Passed level 3 award in photogrpahy and the start of level 3 certificate

After a anxious week off waiting for the results of my work i had handed in for marking I'm please to say Ive passed the award in photography and have signed up and started a certificate in photography course

The first week this week was looking at analog photo montage we where given 45 minutes to come up with a montage using pictures either found online or on our camera i choose to do one about transport through the ages which turned out OK well for a first practise anyway

now for the hard work of doing a photo montage using film photography pictures been doing alot of research and come up with a couple of idea will see how it turns out

Well after some thought i came up with the idea of a family tree photo montage so found alot of old pictures and added some new ones and it came out like this

The next part of the course is to produce a photomontage in digital format for this i decided to take a trip to Norwich and go shooting the history of norwich from this i produced a contact sheet and produced a draft format of the imagines i had taken .

We had a photoshop lesson where i picked up some idea for the finished project
i then spent time at home with photoshop to complete my project using old and new images and added some text and it turned out like this

After producing the montage above i spent alot of time finding research of digital montage
this was actually difficult to do as there is alot information on analog montage but even though photoshop is widely used these day not many people have written about it . I also wanted to document the history of the building i took pictures of and how i wanted to bring nature and transport into the finished item

risk assignment

for our last assignment we where given a assignment of risk where taking pictures with a risk element which could be a way it was taken or present of risk subject .i immediately thought of doing a depression awareness photos a subject close to my heart as i have suffered this for the last 6 years. While doing research i decided to make a book explaining to others the daily struggle of depression it took me along time to come up with the right pictures and text for the subject also while researching i found there is alot of links between mental health and photography ranging from therapeutic photography to it being used as a way to diagnose mental health by a psychiatrist in the past although this wasn't used much

This has been a extremely interesting subject and a very personal journey for myself also while researching i found out about art photography and came across Damien Hirst a artist using pills as a art form
something i found interesting and it was link to use

I also found out that there is another 11 weeks courses available which I'm hoping to do so watch this space
